Operation and Maintenance of LS Spiral Conveyor

Screw conveyors are general-purpose conveying equipment used for conveying powdery, granular, and small-piece materials. All bearings operate in a dusty environment; therefore, the rational operation and maintenance of screw conveyors under such working conditions are of greater significance. The main operational and maintenance requirements for screw conveyors are as follows:
1. The screw conveyor should start without load, i.e., start when there is no material in the casing. Feeding should only begin after the conveyor has started.
2. When initially feeding the screw conveyor, the feeding speed should be gradually increased until the rated conveying capacity is reached. Feeding should be uniform; otherwise, it is easy to cause clogging of the conveyed material, overloading of the drive device, and premature damage to the entire machine.
3. To ensure that the screw conveyor starts without load, feeding should be stopped before the conveyor stops. Operation should only cease after the material in the casing has been completely conveyed.
4. Hard, large pieces of material must not be mixed into the conveyed material to avoid jamming the screw and damaging the conveyor.
5. During use, regularly inspect the working condition of each part of the screw conveyor, paying attention to whether any fasteners are loose. If any loose parts are found, tighten the screws immediately to refasten them.
6. Pay special attention to whether the screws between the spiral tube and the connecting shaft are loose. If this phenomenon is found, stop immediately and correct it.
7. The screw conveyor cover should not be removed while the machine is running to avoid accidents.
8. Any abnormal phenomena occurring during the operation of the screw conveyor should be checked and eliminated; do not force operation.
9. The moving parts of the screw conveyor should be lubricated regularly.
10. The reducer of the drive device should be lubricated according to the requirements of its instructions.
11. Lithium-based lubricating grease is used in the bearing housings at both ends of the screw conveyor. Inject approximately 5 grams every half month.
12. For the screw conveyor's hanging bearings, select type M1. For the 80000 type bearings, they are immersed in melted lubricating grease and cooled together with the grease. After reinstallation, they are ready for use. If the nylon sealing ring is damaged, it should be replaced promptly. After one year of use, maintain it again using the above method for good results.
13. For the screw conveyor's hanging bearings, select type M2. Add lubricating grease every shift, approximately 5 grams per hanging bearing bush. For high-temperature materials, use ZN2 sodium-based lubricating grease (GB492-77). Even with self-lubricating bearing bushes, a small amount of lubricating grease should be added.
