Upgrading the supporting seat of the roller for the heavy box chain slag remover

Heavy box chain slag removal machines are widely used in the slag removal system of heating workshops, and their slag removal effect is quite good. It is a continuous working slag conveying equipment, consisting of a transmission device, a driven device, a slag trough chain, and rollers. The transmission device consists of a motor, a reducer, a driving sprocket, and a frame. The power is transmitted from the motor to the reducer via a triangular belt, and then through a coupling to rotate the driving sprocket and drive the chain. The chain is composed of chain links connected by shafts, and the chain links are made of cast steel. The chain slides in the slag conveying trough paved with cast stone plates, taking away the slag, and has the characteristics of clean slag removal and long service life. However, the roller wear phenomenon affects normal heating and has been troubling various heating workshops. If the roller support is modified, the heavy box chain slag removal machine will play a better role.
Analysis of Wear Causes and Solutions
The heavy box chain slag remover is an open water-sealed slag remover. The lower chain removes the slag, while the upper chain is supported by rollers. The rollers are supported by supports at both ends. The bushings in the supports are made of wear-resistant plastic. Because the heavy box chain slag remover works in water, the gap between the two ends of the roller and the support is very small. When it is first put into operation, the rollers can rotate. After running for a period of time, the slag fills the gap between the roller and the support bushing, and the roller stops rotating. Because there is water in the slag removal ditch, manual operation cannot make it rotate, causing the roller and chain to grind hard. Over time, the roller is worn through, easily causing the chain to jam and damage the reducer. Usually, after one heating season, most of the rollers are worn through, affecting normal heating and increasing the workload of summer maintenance and wasting materials.
In response to the roller wear phenomenon of the heavy box chain slag remover, the analysis shows that the main reason is the size of the gap between the roller shaft at both ends and the support bushing. After the slag enters, it fills the gap between the shaft and the support bushing, and the force of the roller backward cannot overcome the friction between the shaft and the bushing, causing the roller to be unable to rotate and worn through. To solve the problem of roller wear, from the operation of the box chain slag remover, the direction of the roller force is always from the rear. Therefore, the support can be modified to change the original round bushing to an elliptical bushing, so that the roller shaft can have a 10mm horizontal displacement and a 4mm vertical displacement in the elliptical bushing. In this way, the roller shaft has a loosening effect on the slag in the gap between the shaft and the support bushing. With the backward force of the roller shaft and the rotation of the roller, the slag will receive an upward and oblique force and be squeezed out of the support, which increases the wear area between the roller shaft and the bushing, extends the service life of the bushing, and prevents the slag entering the gap between the shaft and the support bushing from jamming the roller, causing the roller to be worn through. After the modification of the support, the phenomenon of roller wear is solved, and the service life of the support bushing is extended.
After the modification of the heavy box chain slag remover, the operation effect during a heating season is very good, and the rollers are no longer worn through and jam the chain, affecting normal heating. Its economic benefits are also significant, greatly reducing the workload of maintenance.
